A Smart Model is a model with techniques built into it that help you understand and make sense of it.

Some examples of models with such built-in techniques are shown in these playlists.

Some of the examples are pretty fully functional, and some are fragments, experiments, parts of potential techniques not yet developed.

Let me add my greatest appreciation for Terry Walters who took these ideas up in discussion and is helping to extend and improve them, and who came up with the use of the term “smart model” in this context, which to me seems completely appropriate.
