I will be speaking April 3rd at the student chapter of the CMAA at IIT,
CMAA-IIT Presents: Directive Environments: Bringing directiveness to environmental visual media
Rob Snyder from Bentley Systems will discuss new ideas, inventions, and possibilities for visual media that stem from the transformation of directiveness as it is contextualized into modeled (and captured) visual environments.
Meaningful new capabilities are developing now in visual media that show clear practical application in the AEC industry today, and promise more to come as the capabilities continue to develop.
Rob’s talk will focus specifically on AEC, but will also look forward to the use of directive environments for any purpose generally. The talk will demonstrate current new capabilities, hint at future developments, and conclude with an ongoing search for meaningful improvement in visual language, with a goal of dual application to both thought and communication.
Rob Snyder is a researcher at Bentley Systems. He is an inventor of Bentley’s directive environment technology that aligns directiveness in-situ into modeled and captured environments. Prior to joining Bentley 5 years ago, Rob was a partner in a small architecture firm in Kentucky. Before that he held a technology role at a large (top 100) design firm. Rob has a degree in Architecture from the University of Kentucky.
